The Comodamente Festival in Vittorio Veneto (province of Treviso) on 4 September 2010 was the occasion to suggest that the area of the Northeast of Italy should become a candidate as the European Capital of Culture 2019.
The speakers told that: «It is a great opportunity to create a network in the Veneto region and present a territorial project by 2012 granting creative competitiveness through culture to this area, whose symbol is the city of Venice».
