The European Alliance for Innovation (hereinafter: EAI) has been established to address Europe’s challenge of sustainable competitiveness, development and growth, through open grassroots innovation.
Recognising that:
- Education and Research are key to the generation of wealth by improving competitiveness of European companies;
- Open Innovation initiatives and actions are essential for the transfer of research results to society;
- Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are enablers of radical changes in key business sectors influencing the future of European society in general, including health, energy, transport, media, and more;
The EAI vision is that of a federated platform that connects the strategic long-term view combining industry, research, government and non-governmental bodies, with a community of individuals organised and cooperating in a grassroots movement.
According with this vision, the EAI is comprised of two independent and collaborating constituencies:
1. A Strategic Forum (http://european-alliance.eu/strategic-forum) constituted by leading institutions, which will provide a Strategic Innovation Agenda, innovation policies identification and proposition, policy and regulation advocacy and will set priorities to benefit innovation;
2. An EAI Community (http://european-alliance.eu/the-innovation-community) constituted by individuals, actively and directly participating in a collection of innovation building activities, the Innovation Cycle, organised in thematic Science, Innovation and Business Technology Councils (hereinafter: SIBs).
The modes of operation of each constituency and their interactions are regulated by the
EAI Governance Model (http://eai.eu/governance-model/).
Treviso Tecnologia has joined the European Alliance for Innovation as Member of the Strategic Forum.
Members will:
- Uphold the mission and principles of the European Alliance for Innovation, which seeks to improve professional standards through participation in their development, use and enforcement;
- Provide EAI a point-of-access to the members’ community for dissemination of opportunities, information and involve EAI members in the activities of the EAI Community;
- Introduce and promote organization’s members participation in EAI Community innovation activities through active participation and contribution to EAI sponsored activities;
- Display EAI logo on the organization’s website and other dissemination materials as appropriate and allow EAI to display the organization’s logo on the EAI website;
- Participate in meetings of the Assembly of EAI Members and appoint a primary contact person as organisation representative in the Assembly of EAI Members;
- Support the growth and development of the SIBs Communities and Portals;
- Directly contribute to strengthening the Innovation cycle, by proposing activities, and by participating in organisational governance.
